Your Refund, From AnywhereTu reembolso, desde donde estés

Every paycheck had tax taken out before you saw it. That was an estimate, not your real number. Filing is how you claim your refund. What was withheld, line by line

Landscaping, hospitality, seafood, construction: whatever the job was, your employer sent part of your pay to the government every week. That was an estimate, not a final number.

Some of what was taken is gone for good. Some of it is only being held, and if more was held than you actually owe, the difference belongs to you. Your W-2 shows every dollar of it.

Federal income tax
Held against a final number nobody had calculated yet. This is the part that can come back to you.
Social Security and Medicare
FICA, withheld from H-2B pay and not refundable, whether you file or not.
State income tax
Some states take it, some don't. It appears separately on your W-2, and a state return is its own filing.

What we do

We read every page of your W-2, count your days in the United States with you, and help you file the return that's actually right for your year, not a guess, and not the same form for everybody.

That includes the tax withheld from your checks that should be credited back to you. All of it happens on your phone, in Spanish or English, from the job site or from home after the season.

The line: about 183 daysEl límite: unos 183 días

Roughly half the year. Your days in the U.S. decide which side you're on.Más o menos la mitad del año. Tus días en EE. UU. deciden de qué lado estás.

Past seasons count too. Some of your days from the last two seasons add to your total. If you didn't cross the line last season, coming back may put you over it.Las temporadas pasadas también cuentan. Algunos de tus días de las últimas dos temporadas se suman a tu total. Si no cruzaste el límite la temporada pasada, volver puede ponerte encima.

Every situation is different. On WhatsApp, we count your exact days with you.Cada situación es distinta. Por WhatsApp contamos tus días exactos contigo.

Questions people askPreguntas frecuentes

Usually yes, sometimes no. It depends on what you earned, what was withheld, and how many days you were in the U.S. over the last few years. Most returning workers are owed money.
Most returns are filed electronically; the first year you cross from nonresident to resident, the year you first pass the days test, is a “dual status” year that the IRS only accepts on paper, from anyone. We prepare it ready to sign, and you mail it.
It depends on what you earned, what was withheld, and how many days you were in the U.S. Many workers owe less than they fear, and some are owed money instead.
Yes. Everything happens on WhatsApp, so where you are does not change what we can do.
No. FICA withheld from H-2B pay is not refundable to you. Federal income tax withholding is the part a return can bring back.
